Adolescent Coaching Cape Town

Our children and youth in contemporary South Africa struggle with challenges that we as adults find hard to understand. Children are under enormous pressure to perform academically, socially and on the sports field.

What happens when our children do not meet these expectations? When we feel that our children are not reaching their full potential, coaching is the answer. The coaching work I do with adolescents is less stigmatized than seeing a therapist, as there is no shame in saying ‘I am going to see my coach’. My coaching work with children involves a positive approach using Positive Psychology and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques. The adolescents I work with find the sessions to be stimulating and enjoyable as I provide a safe environment for them to explore their developing personalities, feelings and abilities. I work closely with the parents of my adolescent clients and enrol them in the process to be my co-coaches, in order to be as effective as possible in their child's intervention.
